The Board of Trustees of Better Lives Partnership is recruiting a

RESEARCH OFFICER

(Fixed term for 9 months to start March 2018)

Salary: £25 per hour for 21 hours/week.

The remit of the Research Officer is to:

  • Establish the need for, and type of, housing for young people with additional support needs in Dumfries and Galloway.

  • Identify current provision, any perceived gaps in the housing market and the options available to this group of people taking into account the rurality and remoteness of Dumfries and Galloway.

  • • Produce a final report detailing the research and recommendations for future developments.

The research will involve linking with existing housing providers, the statutory sector (D&G Council, NHS), support service providers, Carers and Carers organisations, and people with additional support needs, including self-advocate and representative groups.

The Board are looking for an experienced and adaptable Research Officer, who is able to use their own initiative to support the development of the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of an innovative organisation. The post will be based in the Castle Douglas, although the nature of the job will mean some travel through the region will be required.

Travel expenses of 45p per mile will be reimbursed. The postholder will be required to have their own vehicle which they will be insured for business use.
