The vital services Serco deliver include maintaining the hospital’s plumbing, heating, lighting, electrics, and fire safety systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment and supporting the wellbeing of the hospital’s patients, visitors and staff. 

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician.  This role will be responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment.  The successful candidate will undertake maintenance, servicing, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the hospital as directed by FM management, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures. 

Preferable Qualifications and Experience

    • Completed city and guilds /NVQ or equivalent in engineering or building apprenticeship

    • BTEC / ONC in engineering/ building services and/ or five years’ experience as NHS engineering/ building craftsperson role.

    • Competent person in either/or:

Piped medical gases, boiler and pressure systems, Low voltage electrical systems, sterilization, joinery, painter/ decorator to requirements of HTM’s.
